Every business would have some sort of stationary and business cards with your logo and contact details. Sure, it tells your contacts where your business is located and how you can be contacted, but how can it also act like a piece of promotional material without any extra costs?

It's as simple as adding your website address and an email address. Your website will showcase your business, its products or services, its unique selling point, or whatever aspects define your business. Your stationary and business cards will now provide a link to your online presence. Your online presence will, in turn, sell your products and services.

Don't stop at just letterheads and business cards. Perform a quick communication audit to find out how your business has been communicating to the public and your clients. Have you been using brochures, radio ads, media releases, or answering machines? Add a little "www.mybusiness.com" at the end of a message or along with your business name. It will point prospective clients in the right direction to where they could find out more about your business.

Who ever knew you could add your web address after an answering machine message? People who are making an enquiry and get the answering machine could visit your website to answer their own questions and find out more about you.

Do you have company cars, e-mail or print ads? How about having your web address on your building or windows? There are no limits as to where you can promote your website, and hence, your business. Do you have stationary that you give to clients as presents? How about being novel and creating removable tattoos that can be handed out at any of your functions, trade shows, or sponsor days. Did I already tell you that there were no limits?

So, what happens when someone has decided to visit the Internet version of your business? If they were interested, they would try and get in contact with you to make an enquiry. Make sure you respond to these enquiries within 24 hours. People are not going to twiddle their thumbs for a few days or weeks to get an answer. Chances are, that same person visited all your competitor's websites as well. You want to be the first one to get a good hold on the prospective customer or client. All enquiries are worth your time because you never know when they could be worth millions.
