Young entrepreneur joins forces
with leading marketing agency
Monday, 29 September 2003
Freestylemedia, one of Sydney's
fastest growing web development firms has recently formed
an alliance with Boomerang!, a leading Australian integrated
marketing agency.
From its humble beginnings where
students coded from their bedrooms, Freestylemedia has
long since grown into a very successful in online technology
agency. It is now headed up by one of the original founders,
Fred Schebesta.
After graduating from Macquarie
University Fred chose to forfeit a traditional Finance
graduate career in favour of his own business. When
he compares his career to those of his high-flying Finance
graduate friends, he has no regrets: "It's been hard,
risky and lonely at times, but helping people use technology
to grow their businesses, and building my own business,
sure beats a graduate job any day of week."
As a result of its rapid expansion,
Freestylemedia recently outgrew its Neutral Bay offices.
This lead to a strategic move into the larger and more
creative surrounds of Boomerang!'s Balmain Cooperative
building .
Freestylemedia remains a separate
company, but benefits from the business strategy experience
that Boomerang! provides.
Of the Boomerang! alliance with
Freestylemedia, Boomerang Chairman Michael Kiely says:
"The energy and web focus of the Freestylemedia team
provides us with a totally different perspective when
we're brainstorming ideas for new campaigns. And the
Boomerang team enjoy fostering the ambition and positive
attitude of these guys, so its win-win."
The Freestylemedia and Boomerang
partnership is another example of the new economy business
partnering with the successfully established forward-thinking
marketing firm to learn from each other.
